Automated Waste Collection System (AWCS) for Maroochydore City Centre
The Sunshine Coast is leading the nation with Australia’s first, high-tech, underground automated waste collection system for a CBD. Using a series of underground pipes, waste and recycling is moved by vacuum pressure to a collection station, alleviating the need for waste collection trucks.
CISC Member, Arcpanel proudly supplied the cantilevered roof for this building with large spans and high thermal efficiency.
Commissioning is underway for this sustainable and innovative technology, and the AWCS is expected to be operational mid-year.
