CISC Member, Johan Tijssen from Hempblock, has created a cost competitive ($275/㎡) and sustainable alternative to rival traditional Besser Blocks.

Made from hemp, lime and water, Hempblocks are the first all natural, carbon negative and load bearing building material currently available in Australia.

Hempblocks are also durable, CO2 negative, regulate heat and moisture, absorb sound and are fire, termite and mould resistant!

Hempblock has an exclusive distributorship for the USA, Australia and New Zealand, all run from their Sunshine Coast office.

With their first Hempblock building complete and other buildings under construction, Johan is on the way to carving out a new niche in the building industry.
